Natural Language is a digital art project created by renowned Vancouver artist Hank Bull. The letters were found inscribed in the branches of trees in the forest. It took years of intermittent searching to find and photograph all twenty-six. Inspired by the coffee forest on EI Paraiso mountain, Hank and PDCoffee brought five farmers into this project. Using each farmers last name, we recreated new digital images as certificates for high altitude coffee.
Bull’s work has been included in the Venice Biennale and Documenta and can be found in museum collections including the National Gallery of Canada, the MoMA, Confederation Centre Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal and Ludwig Museum.

“When we immerse ourselves in Mother Nature, free from light distortion, we look up and see planets.”
The music compositions in the album push boundaries and challenges traditional musical conventions, incorporating natural sounds with the imagination of coffee forests on EI Paraiso mountain, with a focus on exploring and expressing the awareness of environment. Seasoned musicians including violinist Jack Campbell, saxophonist Liam Murphy, guitarist Arthur Bull, pianist Hank Bull, drummer John Brennon, contribute the album.

While articulating his reasons of becoming a life-long Vancouveritte, sci-fi author William Gibson described Vancouver as a city of "'Hybrid Vigor", stating that Vancouver being unique place where Eastern culture not only meets Western Culture, but co-exists alongside each other peacefully. Founded in Vancouver, we believe that summed up our ethos quite well at PDCoffee - a lifestyle movement with a deep root at the very intersection of east and west. And T-shirt is probably the most direct form for creative minds collaborating at this intersection.
